Exodus 33:7-9  And Moses took the tabernacle, and pitched it without the camp,
    afar off from the camp, and called it the Tabernacle of the congregation.
    And it came to pass, that every one which sought the LORD went out
    unto the tabernacle of the congregation, which was without the camp.
8 And it came to pass, when Moses went out unto the tabernacle, that all the people rose up,
    and stood every man at his tent door, and looked after Moses,
    until he was gone into the tabernacle.
9 And it came to pass, as Moses entered into the tabernacle, the cloudy pillar descended,
    and stood at the door of the tabernacle, and the LORD talked with Moses.




Saw last time in Hebrews chapter 9 that the writer began at the tabernacle,
from the perspective of men approaching God

Exodus also began at the tabernacle, but from the perspective of God reaching out to men

I will begin there as well, focusing on the man Jesus Christ, then the proper way to approach God

But the goal is fellowship with God: certainly we need to go to the cross, but that's but a gateway
  Swaggart's folly




Matthew 17:1  And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother,
      and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart,
2   And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun,
    and his raiment was white as the light.
3   And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elias talking with him.
4   Then answered Peter, and said unto Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here:
      if thou wilt, let us make here three tabernacles;
      one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias.
5   While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them:
      and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said,
      This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.
6   And when the disciples heard it, they fell on their face, and were sore afraid.
7   And Jesus came and touched them, and said, Arise, and be not afraid.
8   And when they had lifted up their eyes, they saw no man, save Jesus only.




Exodus 26:1,36  Moreover thou shalt make the tabernacle with ten curtains of fine twined linen,
      and blue, and purple, and scarlet: with cherubims of cunning work shalt thou make them.
36  And thou shalt make an hanging for the door of the tent, of blue, and purple, and scarlet,
      and fine twined linen, wrought with needlework.




Joh 10:1-13  Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold,
      but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.
2   But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.
3   To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice:
      and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out.
4   And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them,
      and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice.
5   And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him:
      for they know not the voice of strangers.
6   This parable spake Jesus unto them:
      but they understood not what things they were which he spake unto them.
7   Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep.
8   All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them.
9   I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved,
      and shall go in and out, and find pasture.
10  The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy:
      I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
11  I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.
12  But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not,
      seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth:
      and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep.
Joh 10:13  The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep.
