Missing Jesus, Part 1 by Joey Kelly preached at Rock Springs Full Gospel Church, Lawrenceville, GA, on 9/20/2017 Matthew 16 13 When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am? 14 And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets. 15 He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? 16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. 17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. John the Baptist and Elijah Malachi 4 5 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD: 6 And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse. John 1 8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. Matthew 11 13 For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John. 14 And if ye will receive it, this is Elias, which was for to come. Why was the identity and mission of Christ hidden? it wasn't until later, after Peter's revelation, that Jesus began to speak of His crucifixion Matthew 16 20 Then charged he his disciples that they should tell no man that he was Jesus the Christ. 21 From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day. Matthew 13 11 He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given. John 15 15 Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you. Luke 13 25 When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are: Revelation 3 20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. John 20 1 The first day of the week cometh Mary Magdalene early, when it was yet dark, unto the sepulchre, and seeth the stone taken away from the sepulchre. 2 Then she runneth, and cometh to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple, whom Jesus loved, and saith unto them, They have taken away the Lord out of the sepulchre, and we know not where they have laid him. 3 Peter therefore went forth, and that other disciple, and came to the sepulchre. the "other disciple" is John, the writer of this book they knew not where they laid Jesus even though Jesus told them what would happen, they didn't understand 4 So they ran both together: and the other disciple did outrun Peter, and came first to the sepulchre. 5 And he stooping down, and looking in, saw the linen clothes lying; yet went he not in. 6 Then cometh Simon Peter following him, and went into the sepulchre, and seeth the linen clothes lie, 7 And the napkin, that was about his head, not lying with the linen clothes, but wrapped together in a place by itself. 8 Then went in also that other disciple, which came first to the sepulchre, and he saw, and believed. 9 For as yet they knew not the scripture, that he must rise again from the dead. 10 Then the disciples went away again unto their own home. the napkin lying by itself, folded shows that Jesus took care to do it, and that grave robbers didn't hastily grab His body extrabiblical information/revelation, special knowledge it may be that archaeology, history, customs, tradition, etc. can add detail, but none of these embellishments are told to us, and THIS is the record, and the word of God most will never have access to such scholarship the bible is able to interpret itself, if we let it but many today major on these minor things and make doctrines out of them: Perry Stone, Jonathan Con Man, many websites and youtube videos they preach another gospel, leading people away from the written word of God, and away from Jesus gnosticism is special knowledge revealed to the members of the club Hebrews 10 7 Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God. John 5 39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. again, they knew not the scriptures they went home, still dejected, even though they had evidence of the resurrection no faith, no direction, no clue ...but John believed the multitudes, the 70 others also in Luke 10, the 12, the 3, the one John 21 20 Then Peter, turning about, seeth the disciple whom Jesus loved following; which also leaned on his breast at supper, and said, Lord, which is he that betrayeth thee? John 21 3 Simon Peter saith unto them, I go a fishing. They say unto him, We also go with thee. They went forth, and entered into a ship immediately; and that night they caught nothing. 11 But Mary stood without at the sepulchre weeping: and as she wept, she stooped down, and looked into the sepulchre, 12 And seeth two angels in white sitting, the one at the head, and the other at the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain. 13 And they say unto her, Woman, why weepest thou? She saith unto them, Because they have taken away my Lord, and I know not where they have laid him. 14 And when she had thus said, she turned herself back, and saw Jesus standing, and knew not that it was Jesus. 15 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, why weepest thou? whom seekest thou? She, supposing him to be the gardener, saith unto him, Sir, if thou have borne him hence, tell me where thou hast laid him, and I will take him away. 16 Jesus saith unto her, Mary. She turned herself, and saith unto him, Rabboni; which is to say, Master. 17 Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God. angels sitting Exodus 17 11 And it came to pass, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed: and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed. 12 But Moses' hands were heavy; and they took a stone, and put it under him, and he sat thereon; and Aaron and Hur stayed up his hands, the one on the one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun. Matthew 28 2 And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it. Moses seen here as a type of Christ's empty tomb being discovered John 19 30 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost. the finished work of Christ (justification) ..but AG, Foursquare, Open Bible teach not justification, but sanctification, relating to the baptism in the Holy Ghost and when it is received William Durham introduced the doctrine in 1910 Jesus called her "woman", and she didn't recognize Him but when He called her name, then she knew Him relationship, just like John the gardener: religious activity: no relationship, no power, no resurrection, no overcoming life
