Women, Wells and Worshippers|
I recently received an email from someone, and I've taken the liberty of reproducing the exchange below. And yes, my spell checker really is broken (I'm running Arch Linux, that bleeding-edge Slackware fork).
I WILL GET RIGHT TO THE POINT
MY FAMILY AND MYSELF ARE TRAVILING TO HAITI
I AM LOOKING FOR A CHURCH THAT KNOWS ABOUT ACTS 2 :28 ONE GOD PREACHING THE TRUE SALVATION IF YOU CAN HELP ME OUT THAT WOULD BE GREAT WE WILL BE IN JEREMIE THE FIRST OF JULY MY HUSBAND DRILLS WATER WELLS FOR THEM
I think there is something wring with your computer keyboard --- it seems to
only be able to type in capital letters. You might consider getting that
fixed, it's rather annoying to have to read what you type like that.
Acts 2:28 Thou hast made known to me the ways of life; thou shalt make me full
of joy with thy countenance.
I think most churches know and believe that verse.
I DIDN'T KNOW IT WOULD MATTER HOW I TYPED
THAT WAS THE WRONG VERSE I WAS WANTING TO KNOW ABOUT
BUT THAT'S OK YOU ANSWERED MY QUESTION WITH YOUR RESPONSE WITH MY TYPING
I HOPE GOD DON'T THINK THE WAY YOU DO OR WE ARE ALL IN TROUBLE
AND CAN YOU PLEASE LEARN TO SPELL (WRING)
Ok, let's do this without anymore sarcasm on my part.
First, typing in all caps is considered shouting and it's rude. You want to
shout at me? Fine, but I reserve the right to be rude in kind.
Second, I knew what verse you were referring to (Acts 2.38), because of your
arrogant statment about the your doctrine and message being the only true
salvation. You and I (along with everyone in your church) both know that your
doctrine is considered cultic by the rest of christendom.
Modalism is a false view of God, and your claim that your doctrine reveals the
only true way to be saved implies that since I am one Oneness
(note: another typo... I meant to say not Oneness), I am not
saved. Therefore, why are you wasting your time talking to someone who
supposedly believes a false gospel?
Honestly, drop the nonesense and approach other believers in humility. If you
had said something like, "Brother Kelly, we are UPC (or whatever), but we're
trying to do something for God in Jeremie, will you help us?", I would have
graciously done all I could to assist you (I know several Haitians from that
area who would probably feel as I do, and would recommend you to any pastors
they might know there).
Oh, and my spell checker is broken. I need to proofread more closely. Thanks
for pointing out my speling mistaek.
