[Nolug] No boot disk ever needs to be bigger than 4GB???

As long as /home, /var and any other data-only directories get put
on a 2nd _disk_ (not partition!!!), why does anyone need more than
4GB for OS+apps?

(Also, it makes it easier to swap out for bigger disks when shared
system files files aren't on them...)

Is my hypothesis flawed?
