I think they cut off his head and glued the shoulders to the PVC pipe. They also put Depends on him so there would be no leakage from the corpse. (These guys are serious about their games!)

No, but there is a white pole (pvc pipe?) that it looks like he is
using to keep his head up.  Bungie cords?  Something else?
    

Lack of depth perception in 2D images makes it impossible to tell.

However... now that I look at the pole, the I-beam, his arms and his
body, something doesn't look right.  The pole runs right between his
  arms.  This could be a fake.
