Novatel's box is slick. It definitely needs a port for amplifier and antenna
to catch signal from distant cell sites.

It was me who brought my box to the NOLUG meeting. It was an EVDO (9dB
antenna + amplifier) to 802.11 converter for Web access. Credit due to the

I disassembled the Stompbox, but the box reincarnated as a firewall
(M0n0wall).
