oh! no, i meant on Jonathan's end. i think it's definitely
recipient-side. there were some odd trailing chars (and still are) on
your bb messages, so maybe gmail's interpreting those as
control/formatting chars. i am noticing some difficulty logging into
their fancy web gui, i had to switch to the html one to even log in (and
 that doesn't display the garbled message shown by Jonathan)
