I've got a G1 now, getting ready to upgrade to a G2. I'm exceptionally
happy with my phone, but haven't had an iPhone. It is handy to have a
full keyboard and an ssh client. :)

I know there's at least one third-party firmware (Cyanogen) for
Android devices, but John's right; an Android phone requires a Gmail
account. This is a pro for me, but may not be so for others.
