I'm assuming you're a lan behind a linux box that's got a modem in it,
and you want to share your connection.

Which kernel? If you're still 2.2.x, ipchains is your friend. The howto
has a chapter on that. 2.4? Well, iptables is what to use, perhaps we
can give you the right iptables config for that.

As far as using a linux box for dialup, the best app for that is wvdial.
You might be able to get diald working if you want dial-on-demand.
