We still push a catalyst for managed switches, but you're right that the Cisco/Linksys products seem to be working out nicely.

Well, I imagine they merged the technology of the two companies, just like they did with Compaq and DEC. HP has really made some nice products over the years, along with some terrible ones. lol Procurves are really nice though. I'm also digging all of this new mid-range stuff coming out from Cisco buying out Linksys. Finally, we're getting really good managed switches for under $1000.

From reading the wikipedia sources and visiting hp's website it apears to me that the procurve name is gone since the buy out of 3com.

Yeah, it's their managed switch line. I believe procurve is actually
3com, who hp bought out.

Other way around... While HP did buy out 3Com, the Procurve line has been around long before that because I remember seeing their gear back when I was still in high school in the late 90s.

Apparently, the name dates back as far as the late 70s, if Wikipedia is to be trusted: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ProCurve
