[Nolug] [Way-OT] Suggestions for inexpensive Android?

My wife is looking to get a new phone, and the LG Ally seems interesting.

Are there good phones with that same form-factor (horizontal,
slide-exposing QWERTY) in the $50 (w/ contract) range?
