Why does everyone rag on Cox? I consistently get 1.6Mbps downstream
speeds, which is much faster than ADSL... (Can't say about upstream,
though.)
I'd rate their service excellent, now that things have stabilized after
the @HOME conversion.
Remember, also, that Cox *does* have competition: xDSL!!!! (Of course,
where I live, in the heart of Old Jefferson, 1 mile from Elmwood, it's
18K ft from the CO, so I can't get DSL. In this case, BS doesn't think
that my [and all the people near me] business is worth it enough to
build out another CO nearer to a neighborhood that is converting from
the Original Inhabitants to upper-middle class 2nd Home Buyers...)
