Well, as far as I know, shoutcast is for audio only.

I recommend the use of Icecast if you want mp3. It's open source/free, and
quite configurable. If you need a source client, you can use ices, darkice,
muse, etc. There are quite a few available. Check out www.icecast.org. The
software made by Xiph.org is just Icecast and Ices. The rest are third party,
but can login to the icecast server. Also, it should compile easily on
different systems. Consider a drop-in replacement to Shoutcast.

You had problems with bitrates over 128 with shoutcast?
