With bootable CD-ROM drives, and rescue CD-ROMs, I truly do not remember
the last time I used a floppy drive.
Truthfully, though, without a floppy drive, a CD-RW would seem to be
mandatory for a home user. For a business user needing some cheap
clients for non-taxing end-user tasks, this system, plus a $75 15"
monitor would be just $100 more than a refurbished VT-520, and much
cheaper than many thin client appliences.
