Well, I give up. I have a plain newly installed Redhat 7.0 and have
installed openssh 3.5.1.p2 from source. I have it configured like evrry
other server: the privsep user, etc. The config files are pristine and
untouched. I can ssh fine into the box using PubKeyAuthentication.

Problem: I cannot use Password Authentication. All I get in the log is
"Failed password test for SSH2"

I can't find anything in the READMEs or the FAQs or the INSTALLs or the
DOCs or the Googles or the List Archives. Has anyone gone through this
particular hell?

Thanks,
