The more I went through the google articles regarding Smedley,
after I sent my reply, it occurred to me that he gave many
similar speeches over a multi-year period. We obviously picked
different but similar speeches.

Note the sentence "Some choice, though, huh?". It implies
that I'm not thrilled with either choice.

And yes, if some powerful country is going to, in effect, take
over a little Carribean island, I'd rather it be the US than a
European power. And Haiti *would* have been invaded...
