[Nolug] Problems with the Trash in Gnome

Whenever I try to delete a file using Nautilus in Gnome by moving it to
the trash, I get an error saying that I "do not have permission to write
to this folder" I have checked the permission on the Trash directory
found in /home/chris/Desktop/
This shows that I DO have read / write permission, but absolutely
nothing will go to the trash.

Oh yeah, running gnome 2.2 libranet 2.7, kernel
2.4.20
