FWIW, my brother read it in the 3rd grade.

So, the novel metaphor is a good one, eh?

Software has more dimensions than a novel, though. There are
different ways of interacting with.

Good analogy would be software that non-programmers love to use and
good programmers (guru programmers, even) enjoy reading.
