If you are looking to learn more about Linux or BSD but don't want to
experiment with Bill Gates's, er, I mean your Windows PC, then you should
check out the Capital Area Corporate Recycling Council's website:
They sell a lot of used PCs and other hardware (492 items as of now) via
Ebay:
http://search.ebay.com/ws/search/SaleSearch?satitle=cacrc&ht=1&sosortpropert
y=1&from=R10&sotextsearched=2&BasicSearch=
and you can pick it up yourself and save the shipping charges. They do
charge a pickup fee of $1.
There's a number of PCs under $10, including laptops! Granted, the machines
aren't powerful, but dang they're cheap!
Here's the address and contact info:
CACRC
800 St. Phillip St.
Baton Rouge, LA 70802
ph: (225) 379-3577
fax: (225) 379-3496
