How about using the NetBSD pkgsrc on Linux? It supports non NetBSD
platforms including Linux, FreeBSD and Mac OS X now. I guess some
NetBSD users and developers use it on Linux. And I use it on Mac OS X:-)
It allows us to manage packages on different platforms in same way.
