okay, after reading the article on slashdot [
http://slashdot.org/articles/03/08/31/1655234.shtml?tid=121&tid=189 ] about
aethera 1.0 release, i decided to try it out.
it rocks. now, its open source an cross-platform, but so far, ive only
tried it on my windows laptop, seeing as i had a workstation meltdown.
previously, id been using calypso as a replacement for outlook. this is
_much_ better. cleaner, nicer looking interface ( lets face it, looks do
matter ), POP3/IMAP4 support, RSS feed support, locational weather,
notebook, calendar, contact list, whiteboard, jabber support, all running as
plugins. of course, more features will become available as more plugins are
written.
i havent tried its integration with exchange, or exchange for linux, for
that matter, but so far i give it a hearty two thumbs up.
get windows users to convert from outlook/outlook express to this app.
bottom line: it kicks ass.
