Download virtualdub (http://www.virtualdub.com/), after opening the clip,
locate the frame you want, choose "copy frame to clipboard" from the file or
edit menu (forget which). then paste the image to the image editor of your
choice, photoshop, paint etc.

Does anyone here have an easy way getting a picture from an mpg movie?
I have some mpgs on a web site and would like to create a sample picture
from each to create a link with.
BTW, a (kids, cover your ears) MS Windows (sorry, I know that is a bad
word) screen capture does not work. It only shows black inside the
window.
On a simple install of KDE, kaboodle and aKtion does not even play the
mpg.
