[Nolug] contact manager for Linux

I'm looking for a Linux app or web app that functions similar to ACT! ---
anyone have any ideas? Basically the function I'm not finding is events (I
call so-and-so, and I'm able to find the person in the DB and log the call,
essentially). I've looked all over freshmeat, and I'm not finding anything I
can use, unfortunately.

I can write my own, but that would be a drag (and take far too long).
