Zipa.com is looking to hire a (maybe a couple)
Network/System/Hardware admin that would be capable of
handling the following duties:

  1. Purchasing of pre-built (Compaq / HP) servers

  2. Purchasing of hardware components

  3. Purchasing of software / licenses

  4. Assembly of servers (including Zipa hosting) and
     workstations

  5. Setup and installation of servers (including Zipa
     hosting) and workstations

  6. Updates of IRM and ITS for inventory and
     purchasing tracking

  7. Acquire / fulfill hardware RMAs (including hard
     drives)

  8. Determine comparability of hardware

  9. Maintain the in-stock inventory (pro-actively
     purchase what we will need)

 10. Obtain price quotes from vendors

 11. Price comparisons for like hardware

 12. Perform hardware upgrades as necessary

 13. Maintenance of the Local Area Network

 14. Monitor mission-critical servers and provide
     emergency resolution of problems

 15. When our mail servers are blacklisted, resolve the
     issues

 16. Monitor and maintain freehosting disk space,
     resolve issues

 17. IP address tracking and auditing, both in-house
     and colocated

 18. Monitor security updates / patches / fixes

 19. Maintain switch port audits

 20. Maintain patch panel listings

 21. Auditing of ports on switches, server location in
     cabinets, etc.

 22. Responsible for overall appearance of transport
     room / build room

 23. Special projects as necessary: computer / server
     related

 24. Special projects non-computer related: assemble
     desks, bookshelves, etc.

 25. Member of the On-Call Rotation

Skillset requirements:

  1. In-depth knowledge of hardware and compatibility
     issues.

  2. Know the difference between server / workstation
     grade components.

  3. Ability to install Fedora, Windows RedHat, and
     FreeBSD.

  4. In-depth knowledge of Windows and Linux -
     troubleshoot both.

  5. Hardware troubleshooting - what is wrong and why.
  
  6. Ability to maintain inventory.

  7. Perform hardware upgrades as necessary

  8. Knowledge of TCP/IP and subnets

As you can see the list is nice and long, which means
that you get to wear a lot of hats and can find out
what you are great at.
