Since you mentioned BBQ, Voodoo on the Lakefront is open and an option.
If you wanted to go Japanese, Sake in Metairie on Vets/Houma has a back
room that can accomodate about 12 or so people depending on how many
RSVP's you get. Cafe East is another excellent Chinese option.
