[Nolug] 64 bit machine

Tomorrow after work I am going to start assembling my new AMD Athlon64 3400+
machine. MSI motherboard with nforce 250GB chipset, nvidea fx-5500 video card
512 of low latency ram, eide hdd, dvd-rom, dvd+/- rw.

Which distro? Mandrake, SuSE, ?? Anyone have any experiences in this
realm that they would like to pass along? Pitfalls to avoid?

I would appreciate hearing.
