Position: Health Information Technology Analyst, Information
Technology Group
Position Summary:
The Health Information Technology Analyst for the Louisiana Public
Health Institute will provide workstation, server, application and
core infrastructure support & service in a diverse and developing
health-care environment. The Health Information Technology Analyst
will report to Director, Information Systems & Technology Development
Desired Qualifications:
· Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Math or Engineering
from accredited university required
· Two years or more experience in hardware/software/application
support & maintenance required
· Substantial experience in and knowledge of Windows 2003 domain
environment and networking required
· Experience in the health-care industry highly regarded
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Provide workstation, server, application and LAN support in a
Windows 2003 domain environment.
· Responsible for all end user hardware/software/application
technical support.
· Interface between technical and clinical staff.
· Responsible for monitoring and maintaining Cisco Pix, Windows 2003
file and application servers and verifying automated backups.
· Assist the Director of Information Systems and Technology
Development with the implementation of various internal & external
Health Information Technology projects.
· Other duties as assigned.

Proven written and oral communication skills
Strong workstation, server, and troubleshooting skills
Experience in all aspects of computer hardware/software is desired in
the following categories:
Ø Windows 2000/XP workstation and server
Ø Windows 2003 domain environment (access, security, profiles)
Ø Cisco Pix Firewall
Ø Microsoft Exchange Platform
Ø TCP/IP and other networking protocols
Ø Network configuration and troubleshooting
Ø Practice management & Electronic medical record systems
