I worked on a VB app with Access2000 back-end a while ago, and we had quite a problems with opportunistic locking on NT-based boxes (NT, 2000, XP) hosting the db. We also had to make sure the right Jet was installed. So if the db is access2000, give a look at these two items.

  Guys,

One of my clients has an existing setup of 4 PCs all hitting a custom
access application. I installed a new box recently, but can't figure
out how to make it play nice with the other PCs while in the
application. I get errors relating to lock files. Anyone care to lend
a hand?

Jeremy: this is for the "cat people", if you're interested.

Thanks.
