Yes, they've ported XFree86 to it, and you can compile most Linux
programs against it. However, interaction with Aqua is rough, from what
I understand (that's called rootless X Server) so you have to switch
between them, kinda like (or maybe even exactly like) switching between
virtual terminals.
Question is, why would you want to? From what I understand, OS X has
pretty good apps on it's own. Sure, to run certain things it might be
nice, but for the most part, just use the native tools, ported
non-native tools, and command line utilities.

PS: I've never used OS X except to play around with a laptop at CompUSA.
