short the chip (which this person doesn't want to do b/c it's not theirs),
the other is to replace the mobo. There's a $90 piece of software they were
looking at having to purchase if all other avenues fell short which
guarantees success. There's also an executable that works, but only works
with latitudes, not inspirons (probably a different service tag
combination).
