Since you can merge BSD-licensed patches into GPL-licensed s/w and
then distribute it, is there any illegality in simply distributing
your BSD-licensed patches and telling the end-user to apply the patches?
I don't think so, because the GPL says that you can do whatever you
want with the code as long as you keep it "in house".
