I'll toss in my vote for Openfiler too... I have a rack mount server
here with 12 SATA drive bays and SATA RAID controller that I'll be
firing up with it in the next couple of months. I had tried it on a
Dell server with SCSI RAID not long ago as an experiment and was
impressed with it.
