I'll second the zabbix recommendation. I looked at zenoss, hyperic,
opennms, and nagios. Zenoss and Hyperic were too commercial. OpenNMS
seemed overly complicated. Nagios would've been my 2nd choice, but Zabbix
seemed to be a more well rounded solution.
