[Nolug] USB Scanner and Debian

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone had any experience installing a USB scanner on
Debian (woody). It's a HP 6200c. I have sane (which has compatibility
api for this scanner) and xsane installed but I
don't seem to be able to get the OS to see the device as /dev/anything.
Any ideas?
