We are more concerned with finding someone who is interested and cares
about technology and computing. I think that curiosity is the basis of a
good tech. No one knows all the answers, but a good tech will know how
to find the answer and be interested is seeing the problem solved. So to
answer your question, no, it wouldn't be an instant disqualification,
but you would want to highlight any significant technological
achievements, even if just a hobby.

I've announced this job on NOLUG before and the ball got dropped within
the company, but this time Ive been assured we will follow through. To
that end I made them write a job description for the position. So if
anyone is interested in a job, supporting a windows (XP, Win7) network,
and growing into wireless networks (Motorola Canopy and Orthogonal Point
to Point, as well as Symbol enterprise wireless) send your resume to
Nick Tomba (netomba@tomba.com) and CC me so I can make sure he doesn't
loose it in the bottomless pit he calls an inbox. Job description
attached.
So the job isn't related to Linux in any way,.. but it pays money which
you can donate to the distro of your choice.
