if it IS SSD technology (OP wasn't very clear on this), simply zeroing
out and waiting for the purge routine (or, i believe, this can manually
be initiated as well). and, assuming it IS SSD-based, if that cell's
dead, it is DEAD. last i heard, forensics is still unable to restore
dead solid-state cells.

join us next week when we find out that only one pass should be
necessary for securely wiping hard drives due to modern ATA drives being
so dense! (modern ATA-stored data can't even be extracted with a micron
microscope! or maybe electron; i can't recall. but still; very good news
if you're security conscious! very bad news if you're in the
forensics/data recovery field. just don't wipe out ONLY the partition
table; that's SUPER easily restored.)
