Hi Dane.

 

I agree. A cap which, if exceeded, charges at about the same rate as the
data up to the cap seems fair to me. A cap which charges at a "penalty"
rate isn't.

On the money - this is playing out in the wireless world right now. As
Sprint is the the only truly unlimited provider they are attracting the hogs
which will eventually burden their network so I suspect they'll start caping
eventually. Caps make sense and are good for everybody as long as they are
reasonable.

As a customer, are you willing to pay twice the rate because of the top 10%
who double the ISP's bandwidth if there is no cap? Unless you are in that
top 10%, the answer is generally no - hell no! :)
