Hi all,

I have discovered a fascinating phenomenon and would like to be able to get
around it. I am connecting to my Amazon EC2 instance (Ubuntu server) via
ssh. I can log in, work in the shell, etc. What is strange is that when I
open a new terminal/tab on my local machine (most recent Debian running in
VirtualBox on a Windows 7 machine) and ssh in again (two simultaneous ssh
connections), the terminal/tabs mirror one another. For example, if I have
lynx remotely open in the first local terminal, when my second connection
completes lynx is automatically remotely open in the second local terminal.
I am not familiar with this behavior. The default terminal on the remote
server is highly(?) modified by Amazon (i.e. I see usage stats, etc. at the
bottom of the screen). Is this a 'feature' of the remote terminal? But
then...

Any thoughts? I know there's a way to opt out of the Amazon terminal, but
hadn't paid much attention to it since everything worked the way I wanted it
to (till now).

Thanks, Jason
