If you're crazy, you can indeed rig up your own splitters (or buy two)
to only use two pair:

This will work, but in your heart you'll know it's wrong. I have
personally seen and used a network cable that was frankensteined
similarly.
You could also buy one of those small network switches that live in
the wall. Also, Joey, you can bridge onto an extra NIC using Windows
these days.
If there's wireless, you could get a bridge, but that also gives you
Yet Another Little Box On The Desk.
And lastly, you could always run another wire. IMHO, you should never
run just one wire. If you're already going through the hassle of
pulling one, it's no real extra labor to pull two (or four).
