That's *exactly* what I'm thinking for my daughter.

I got my kids used HP netbooks a few years ago. My son's was on the verge
of falling apart (he brings it to an all-boys school), so got him a
Chromebook. My daughter's netbook works fine, but the replacement AC
charger doesn't fit all that well. Thus, I am thinking of an 11" Stream for
her (if Linux will install on it).
