i've contracted with both cox (cable) and bellsouth (dsl) -- problem
with cox is that they are too decentralized -- every parish has their
own little cox kingdom as far as i can tell and when you have a problem
with the service that's where you are stuck for the most part. this
feifdom approach does not work -- in some parts of the state, i've seen
cox operating out of small trailer-like structures and that's who you
are stuck with if there is a problem. bellsouth's customer service so
far seems to be better, whereas cox's (at least in some parts of the
state)seems to be non-existent. with bellsouth, at least there is a
chain of command which you can move up -- i have yet to discern such a
chain at cox, although i am sure their official position is that they
have one. not to mention that there is an inverse relationship between
cox increasing internet subscribers and your bandwith.
