Others can tell you about pricing, but I can tell you about speed:
A T1 gives you 1.54Mbps upstream and downstream, no matter the
distance from the Central Office.
There are many forms of DSL (which is why it's usually referred to
as xDSL). The most common is, as you know, ADSL, which gives faster
download speeds than upload speeds. The max d/l speed is 1.54Mbps,
but (a) that can be capped by the ISP [so that they can charge more
money for faster speeds], and (b) the farther away you are from the
CO, the slower the speed.

This is why businesses that will have lots of upstream traffic (either
http, ftp, mail or "other") go with (sometimes multiple) T1s.

Do any ISPs in this area offer SDSL, or is it all dependent on what
B.S. puts in the CO?
