I don't believe that the discussion has really areached that point yet.
However part of the reason for doing this is simply the experiece of
completing the task. Those that participate will work together and get to
know each other fairly well (at least on a project level) and everyone can
learn from the experience (the blog). After it's complete it really doesn't
matter what that system will be used for if at all. Personally I would like
to see how far it could be taken, make it a web server (easy), DNS (easy),
install KDE (not so easy). The end result of the project is a cool box, and
a more cohesive group.

Sounds interesting ... but what is the purpose? That is, once the
system is built, who would use it and what would it be for? Or,
has the discussion not reached that point yet?
