This is new? 2.6.2 is _SO_ twelve days ago:

$ uname -a; uptime
Linux dads 2.6.2 #2 Thu Feb 5 19:34:06 CST 2004 i686 unknown unknown GNU/Linux
 21:38:17 up 12 days, 1:54, 5 users, load average: 1.99, 1.70, 1.64

ALSA issues? It works just fine for me. I don't have an initrd either. Since
when was this required? And all modules too, to minimize static issues :-)

What is new is that I am running XFree86 4.4-rc3. It does seem faster,
but then maybe -rc2 was full of debug code. For my next miracle, I'll
get Oracle 10g running. I've downloaded 3.5 gigs in 7 files. If it isn't
bigger than SuSE, it's gotta be close.
