I thought that DV was 1:1 with the raw data, and that it is MPEGx
(among other codecs) that gives the [567]:1 compression.

Or am I thinking of AVI?

But no.

I used Kino to capture DV from a camcorder. That file was sized
at ~14GB/hour. In other words, the video was 27 minutes long,
and ~6.7GB.

Then, again using Kino, I converted it to AVI, which shrunk the
file to 6.3GB.

Converting it to MPEG2 shrank it down to 1/7th the size.

Appreciate the offer, but this would be for "regular" use.

Why do people think that Pamela Anderson & Paris Hilton are so
attractive? Those women are *weird* looking.
