I just spoke with a TV technician, and he told me that last year the State
passed a law creating a new class of license for computer techs (he went
ahead and got the second license). Apparently our knee-jerk reaction, though
correct, was a little misplaced. It's a money grab, to be sure, but it isn't
a unilateral move by the TV board.
Anyone care to look up the statutes? It would be interesting to read the
actual language of the laws, etc.
