Hello,
For those of you that aren't Geek enough, or if you are tired of buying computer
equipment...Consider Ham Radio. Please read the information below. There are
programs written for Linux that can interface with some of the Ham Radios.(got
the Linux part in, well, kinda...)
There are two upcoming Technician level licensing classes scheduled before the
end of the year.
The first one is sponsored by the Coast Guard Auxiliary on November 13th and
20th, should be from 9-4 each day. The class will be held at the coast guard
station and lunch is available for about $4.00.

The second one is sponsored by the Jefferson Amateur Radio Club on December 6th,
8th, 13th, 15th, 20th and 22nd from 7pm to 9pm. The class will be held at the
club's building at the Wally Pontiff playground.

Please contact these individuals ASAP as they need to get a head count soon to
order the books and supplies. The cost of each of these courses is $15.95 for
the book.
The Jefferson club has scheduled testing sessions for right after each of these
classes so that the participants can take the test while the material is fresh
in their mind. The tests cost another $12.00.
