It is a known issue with X. They've been trying to work around it. Since
Dells allow you to use the output as a separate display, X sees it as
another different screen (which probably hasn't been configured) and
freaks out. I've been working on tweaking my dualview setup (and I run
SuSE 9.1) so I've read a LOT of readme's and I remember seeing that in
there somewhere.
Congrats on the talk. I wish I could have been there, but alas, I was
with you in spirit.
