The company I work for has a couple of job opportunities available. If
you or someone you know fits the bill please contact me privately and
directly and I'll forward your resume on. If you are someone you know
is already located in or interested in relocating to Little Rock, AK,
that would be helpful as well. The work site will be either Little Rock
or in the New Orleans area.

Real world, demonstrable experience counts more than the items in the
"required education/skills" bullet below so don't let that scare you off
from applying. You _really_ do need substantial hands-on Solaris
experience for the first position and you really do need substantial
hands-on fiber channel SAN and FC direct-attached storage experience for
the second. For both positions, hands-on experience with Veritas
Storage Foundation products is highly desirable.

The Commercial Business Services Unit currently has an opening for a
Senior UNIX Systems Administrator.

JOB DESCRIPTION: Scope: Plans and executes a variety of highly complex
assignments associated with managing and controlling UNIX systems.
Analyzes system faults, troubleshoots, and runs diagnostic tests on
operating systems and hardware to detect problems. Evaluates and
installs developed software during various phases of testing. Works on
complex problems. Coordinates the remote testing of products in other
areas. Reviews and prepares documentation for systems, tests and
installation of software. Investigates and recommends methods and
techniques to be used for obtaining solutions. Initiates preventive
maintenance on the operating systems as well as repair to
system/environment problems. Administers and/or oversees
systems/environment solutions for multiple projects with varying
schedules which are critical to the success of programs. Plans
system/environment requirements for individual projects. May participate
in the creation/maintenance of the overall management plan. May act as
an internal consultant providing work direction and technical guidance
to others. Regularly interacts with senior management. Responsible for
the technical direction, leadership, and training of less experienced
staff. Participates in 24x7x365 on-call rotation to support enterprise
wide UNIX environment.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/SKILLS: Bachelor's degree in related technical
discipline and 10+ years of UNIX operating systems experience in a Sun
Solaris environment.

DESIRE SKILLS: Experience with Sun Solaris up to and including Solaris
10. Experience with Sun SunFire servers including 12K/20K/V890/V440.
Experience with Veritas Volume Manager, Veritas Cluster Server, Legato
Networker. Proficiency with scripting in Perl and Korn shell. Experience
with SAN storage in an EMC or HDS environment is a plus.
