                    INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY ANALYST 2
                            (Grid Services)
 High Performance Computing (HPC)/Louisiana Optical Network Initiative
                                 (LONI)
Required Qualifications: Bachelor???s degree in Computer Science or a
related scientific or engineering science field; two years of experience
with AIX, LINUX and other UNIX operating systems with an emphasis on
computational methods, distributed and grid computing technologies; one
year of experience with grid computing techniques; experience with
FORTRAN, C, C++, Shell scripts, or other modern programming languages;
ability to prepare and deliver technical presentations and training on
specialized topics; strong service orientation and aptitude. Additional
Qualifications Desired: Master???s or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science or
a related scientific or engineering science field; experience with
resource management systems such as PBS, LoadLeveler and job schedulers
like Moab, and with different compilers on multi-platforms; experience
with parallel computing techniques in clustering environments;
experience in configuring, installing and using scientific software
packages and HPC applications; demonstrated knowledge of existing LSU
HPC systems. Responsibilities: implements, configures, secures,
documents, maintains, monitors, and supports grid technologies and
services allowing researchers to make efficient use of LONI HPC
resources; designs training programs or seminars based on user needs or
technology changes; implements, configures, secures, documents,
maintains, and supports other HPC software which integrates with grid
technologies including, but not limited to: various commercial and open
source scientific codes, libraries, or applications; coordinates,
implements, configures, secures, documents, monitors, and maintains
various grid software resources in support of LONI partnership projects
while working in conjunction with LONI portals developers, systems
administration, and networking staff; assists LONI help desk,
consulting, portals developers, systems administration, or network
personnel to resolve user reported or systems problems associated with
grid services and technologies on LONI HPC resources; professional
initiatives including, but not limited to: represents LONI in statewide,
national, or international forums or partnerships, researches emerging
trends in grid services and development of potential solutions for LONI,
and participates in professional improvement or training activities;
performs other duties as assigned by the Manager of HPC Enablement in
HPC, the Director of HPC in NIR, the Executive Director of LONI or their
